CANTON LAKE APPLICATION

History

Vivian was adopted into an upper middle class family when she was a baby. Shortly after she was born she was abandoned in a dumpster in Orange, California and found by a local man dumpster diving. Her adoptive parents, Owen and Zaid, had difficulties getting pregnant. Owen had had more than one miscarriage and the latest one landed him in the hospital for a prolonged stay. Zaid had called it then, fearful of losing his omega and unwilling to sacrifice his health anymore he officially gave up on fathering a child. He got a vasectomy and they began the process of adoption, they got Vivian quickly and were thrilled.

Vivian was a healthy child and learned quickly how to read and spell. She could count early on with her fingers and then with written numbers. Before kindergarten she was reading chapter books which both delighted and concerned her fathers. They hadn’t raised kids before so perhaps this was normal... Vivian was able to focus on things intensely and could understand what seemed to be complex ideas to her parents. She could reason things out on her own to a moderate degree. She had a large vocabulary and the questions were never ending. Exhausting in fact. They seemed to regard things a child her age shouldn’t understand. Owen and Zaid were at a loss. Vivian was able to unlock doors and maneuver her way around any child-safety setup they had. Never to harm herself but she had an endless curiosity that simply could not be satisfied.

Zaid bought her a huge complex book she was able to read mostly on her own. She finished it shortly then demanded another one. What had been intended to busy her for a while only made her more ravenous for knowledge. Vivian was a loving devoted child but a difficult one. She got destructive when she grew bored and she was bored nearly constantly. Anything her fathers threw at her seemed to be eaten up in no time at all only for her to be smarter and more capable of getting herself into trouble.

This was made harder when Owen fell pregnant unexpectedly. Vasectomies aren’t always 100% effective and after years of unprotected sex during heat it was always a possibility. Owen had a high-risk pregnancy which saw him visiting the hospital more than once. Home life was stressful and Vivian was fearful she might lose her mother and sibling before this was over. Owen managed to give birth to a healthy boy named Vincent after which he got a hysterectomy.

It was in the hospital that Vivian made the most important discovery of her life; the thing that could keep her busy for the rest of her days. Medicine. In having her new baby brother and nearly losing their mother she learned more about sex and omegas than most kids her age had to know. She ate it up, none of it disgusted her, all of it fascinated her. She got books on medicine and doctors from then on and found her calling. She became less of a destructive force at home and much more helpful. She helped when Owen and her brother came home and as Vincent grew Vivian was an attentive older sister minding where he crawled, what he ate, and how he played.

When she turned ten years old she was able to officially test for a gifted program. The results were unsurprising, she was a genius. It brought up some difficult questions regarding school and when she should be allowed to skip grades. Vivian campaigned to her parents to allow her to try the accelerated academic testing just to see what might happen. What happened was she graduated high school at 14 and immediately went to college. California had an abundance of good state schools she could attend on scholarship and she went through for pre-med. She finally found her niche in school, happy now that she had more challenging curriculum. She graduated college at 18, went straight to medical school, then into residency at 22.

Now at 26 she’s had a year of experience working as an OBGYN serving omegas of both sexes. She’s done well for herself but sometimes finds there is a glass ceiling in medicine sometimes. She is one of startlingly few omega physicians in her field. She learned about a little town called Canton Lake that was A/B/O friendly and could use an omega doctor. Her father generously bought her a place to stay in the area though perhaps it was also a ploy as it has more than one spare bedroom for them to come visit her. It was very sweet but Vivian also hoped that while on her own she might be able to finally begin searching for a partner. She never had a crush in school, then when she went to college she was too young for everyone. Med school everyone was too busy and tired. Residency was more of the same. It seemed ridiculous to be 26 and a complete virgin but that’s the truth… and fixable, right?
